Anita Davis Revell has been in the programming world since the late '60s when punched cards and typos were feared, disaster was dropping a big deck, and fifty-two card pickup would have been a joy! A mathematician by degree, she has worked for Fortune 500 and hi-tech corporations such as American Express Company, IBM, Siemens AG, AT&T, Burger King Corporation & DISTRON, and Williams International who designs and builds the engine for the Cruise Missile. Duties entailed Project Management and Leadership, Senior Programmer Analyst and Installation support. Project formats included but were not limited to payroll, billing, general ledger, mathematical algorithms and statistical
analysis, telecommunications, banking, purchasing and inventory in online and batch IT environments. Whether the project dictated working as a team member or in an individual capacity, she undertook the work with tenacity, perseverance, enthusiastic determination, creativity, and with the essential great albeit ingenious sense of humor.

Additional Biographical Notes: Ms. Revell learned to fly in 1968 and soloed a Piper J3 Cub "taildragger" in 7.5 hours, has over-water multi-engine time in a Cessna 310 and has many hours performing extreme acrobatics in a Christen Eagle with a former EAL Captain. Having been a water sports aficionado for many years, Ms. Revell enjoys extreme slalom skiing and kneeboard tricks. She has also driven for professional skiers through their buoyed courses. Following in her father's footsteps, she enjoys a myriad of mechanical challenges not limited to vehicles: 300SDL replacing calipers, pads and rotors, fuel lines between all injectors and fuel pump, main and in-line fuel filters, and antenna motors. Lose her tools and she's unforgiving. Favorite Christmas present: complete brand-name socket set or heavy-duty cordless drill. In 1999 she traveled as a member of the Hurricane Floyd Disaster Relief Team from Nashville, which reconstructed nine roofs, mostly churches and rectories, in nine days on Abaco Island in the Bahamas.
Artistic Designs: Throughout the years, Ms. Revell has used her artistic talents in many endeavors. After 9-11, she began designing and hand sculpting cross pendants. These pendants are made using freshwater baroque pearls, SwarovskiŠ fine crystals, Czechoslovakian cut crystals, or genuine fine turquoise. All of these handmade crosses are individually sculptured with sterling silver or 14K GF gold wire. A sampling may be viewed here: Jewelry 01 In addition, Ms. Revell has designed and created beautiful gemstone and silver necklaces, bracelets, and earrings accented by emerald cut SwarovskiŠ
crystal cubes. Each artisan piece is unique, handmade and hand sculpted by Ms. Revell using fine solid 925 sterling silver pieces, precious and semi-precious gemstones such as ruby and emeralds, aquamarine, amethyst, amber, citrine, turquoise, peridot, agate, florite and freshwater pearls. Her signature SwarovskiŠ cube crystals complete the designs.

 US Senator Bill Frist awarded Ms. Revell's only child, Shannon Marie, a nomination to the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. The academic entrance board at the USNA gave Shannon a clear sailing approval and her appointment was formally presented in April 2000 at Brentwood Academy (BA) by the USNA Academic Dean & Provost Adm. William Miller USN(Ret.) PhD. Shannon entered the Naval Academy 30 days after graduating from BA as the salutatorian with a 4.55 GPA 0.03 behind the valedictorian.
She was well prepared for the rigors of USNA Plebe Summer 2000 by lettering at BA in varsity soccer, varsity track, varsity cross-country, and varsity swimming; she was named to the 2000 TN Mid-State Soccer Team and in the State of TN track meet placed 1st in the 400m relay, 2nd in the 800m relay, and 6th in the 300m hurdles. At the USNA Shannon has maintained a position on the Superintendent's List (highest academic honors) with a 3.79 GPA majoring in Chemistry. She ranks in the top 1.8% of the Class of 2004 comprised of 1,078 midshipmen and is a member of the Varsity Track Team running 400m hurdles and the 800m and 400m relays.
In the fall of 2001, 166 Midshipmen of the 4,236 in the Brigade received an award for achieving 100% rating on the PRT
(Physical Readiness Test); Shannon was one of the 166 to be so honored.
In 2002, Shannon was inducted into the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) and the Golden Key International Honour Society
in ceremonies at the United States Naval Academy.
Midshipman Revell graduated 41st of 1000 Mids, With Distinction (top 100), in Chemistry, USNA Class of 2004, and was commissioned to the officer rank of Ensign in the United States Navy. Ensign Revell received her first choice of service selection as a Navy Special OPS Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Diver and completed the six-month US NAVY Dive Training in Panama City Beach, Florida, December 2004. She is now based in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, assigned to a ship while receiving her Surface Warfare Officer's rating and has been promoted to Supply Officer for the ship SALVOR.

Then Link to Barnes & Noble to purchase RAF Wings Over Florida by Willard Largent,Tod Roberts (Editor) in which John Seymour Weston Davis, Shannon's grandfather/Anita's father, is pictured on the cover (second from right) as the Flight Commander/ Instructor and is profiled in the book in good company with other WWII No.5 BFTS (British Flight Training School) American flight instructors and RAF Cadets.
The No.5 BFTS was located in Clewiston, Florida, 100 miles NW of Miami. Royal Air Force Cadets would travel from England to Canada by ship then transferring to railroad to the various BFTS locations in the southern US states.
A documentary film The Flying Days of RIDDLE FIELD The World War II No. 5 British Flight Training School in which Captain Davis was interviewed and filmed was produced in time for a Memorial Day 2001 release.
After the war Flight Commander Davis joined Eastern Airlines where he was fondly called Johnny Slow Walkin' (initials JSW) for his extremely quick paced gait and flew as a Captain for 30 years logging over 3.5 years of flight time (in excess of 31,000 hours) in more than 67 years of flying airplanes. He died at home on his ranch in March 2001 at the age
of 87 still actively working on airplanes and their engines, diesel tractors, checking on his cows, fencing, pulling calves, mowing the airstrip and flying his planes. And if Johnny Slow Walkin' wasn't working he was reading Popular Mechanics, Aviation Week, Sport Aviation, National Geographic. He and his wife of 54 years, the Norwegian former Celia Borghild Ronningen (Ronnie), religiously attended every EAA Air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, beginning in the late '60s. They also traveled to the annual RAF No. 5 BFTS Reunions in England which reunited the RAF Cadets with their American instructors; Ronnie Davis has since continued this tradition in her husband's name.
Johnny Slow Walkin' was an avid reader, hunter, fisherman, pilot, mechanic, rancher, practical joker, lover of nature, and inventor. But mainly his claim to fame would be that he was a teacher of all of these things, an amazing, wonderful, brilliant teacher.
